About

Welcome to the Wix website for Alec's Animations. Featuring Jesse Murray, Jeremiah Branscombe and many other friends, Alec's Animations is a YouTube Channel that creates videos of many different genres that will see fit to please!
Alec's Animations was created in 2009 by myself, Alec McGath. It all started with minor videos with the act of puppeteering toys or making very choppy Lego stop-motion animation videos. Which is where the name Alec's Animations was coined.
After years of Lego, Alec's Animations finally begun to film live action short films in 2011 once Alec had found a new special effects program as well as beginning to use a new (new at the time) editing program, Magix Movie Edit Pro 15 Plus. It was a step up from Windows Movie Maker which he had used for all his videos in all other previous endeavors.
The first live-action videos were exclusively for school projects at first it would seem, but in January of 2012, Alec joined together with Bret Steeves (who has been involved for quite some time) as well as Samuel MacLeod. They made a video called "Modern Warfare: Sniper Ambush." Now, at the time Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 had came out and was most popular amongst teenage boys. So naturally, why wouldn't they want to make a war film?
Alec's Animations has since spread in different genres of movies as well as different depths. The last of Alec's Lego Animations were in the spring of 2012 ending with "High Noon", "Terrorist FAIL" and "World War III"
It was in April of 2012 when Alec's Animations decided to take on a new web-series; Walkers. Walkers was a zombie apocolypse video series that spanned from April 2012 until February 2013. There were seven full episodes in total along with one unfinished 8th episode. Walkers eventually fell through with the reboot unfinished episode eight. Alec was loosing interest and was getting quite tired of the zombie genre. Also the tedious job of having to organize and get everyone out for a day was difficult to execute. So they eventually let it slip through the cracks.
Walkers starred regular actors and friends Jesse Murray and Jeremiah Branscombe. Jesse Murray has been in nearly all of their videos except for a select few (Bleeding Winter, season videos, ec.). Jeremiah is always one to get enthusiastic about upcoming videos; always giving input and new, cool ideas.
In the December of 2013 Alec decided to make a full length short film called Bleeding Winter. Inspired by the featured film "The Grey" starring Liam Neeson, Alec set out to make the biggest video he has ever done before. Working in the cold Canadian winters was a difficult task. Not to mention having to keep his dog Sam under control in order for the "wolf" in the movie to behave properly and follow command. The actors as well had a rough time enduring the cold. Zoe Tingly, Jeremiah Branscombe, Bret Steeves, and Tabitha Cameron stepped up in taking part in this large project. This was both Zoe Tingley and Tabitha Cameron's first times in Alec McGrth's videos, and Alec was quite happy and satisfied with the performance they displayed. It took the spance from late December 2013 to early March 2014 to get all footage and editing complete. Bleeding Winter is "By far one of my favourite videos we've ever made" says Alec McGrath.
Alec's Animations still continues to make videos today, however not as many may come out as often as they used to. Here are two reasons for such:
1. Now that Alec's Animations has grown into making bigger projects, it may take longer for the videos to appear online due to the time it takes to make them.
2.Alec McGrath and many of his friends such as Jeremiah and Jesse have recently graduated this year of 2014. Therefor, time is not as easy to come by as it used to be.
